Sticky Keys

In some situations, holding down Num or Shift while typing is not desirable. The Sticky Key mode allows Num to act as Num Lock and Shift to act as Caps Lock.

When enabled, simply tap the Sticky Key and it will remain on until tapped again. Holding the key, will also toggle it until it is tapped or held again. Both Num and Shft can be enabled and toggled to the ON/OFF positions at the same time.

For chord notation, when a Sticky Key is toggled into the ON state, the chords will always have that modifier associated with it.

For example, if Num is toggled on, using the default config, pressing 0 R000 (“a”) will send N R000 (“1”).

Notes about Sticky Keys

  • Both Sticky Num and Sticky Shft can be toggled ON at the same time. This makes accessing special reserved chords very easy. In some cases, one of these chords may be pressed causing undesirable results.
  • There is no indicator on the Twiddler to show the state of the Sticky Keys. On screen output is the only way to tell which mode a Sticky Key is currently toggled.
  • Most of the time, people who use the Twiddler in the left hand will enable Sticky Num, while right handed Twiddlers will use Sticky Shft.
